Rafael Sr., Ralph II, and Eddie with Rafael Mendez. When this photo was taken in the 1950's Mendez was regarded as one of the best trumpet players in the world. On the back of this photo he scrawled "Para Eduardo y familia. Sinceramente, Rafael Mendez"; which translates to "For Eduardo and Family, Sincerely Rafael Mendez."
