This Special Collections and Archives collection contains oral histories recorded by students in HIST 3345:America by Nature taught by Dr. Jennifer Brown during fall semester 2017. The students interviewed people in the Corpus Christi area affected by Hurricane Harvey, which made landfall along the Gulf Coast at Rockport, Texas in August 2017.

This was a joint project between the Special Collections and Archives staff and the students. An archivist from Mary and Jeff Bell Library worked with the students to advise on legal considerations, standards for transcriptions and descriptions of the recordings, and provide overall context regarding the archival importance of the project. The Special Collections and Archives staff also worked to make the recordings available online.
