Gambel Family Papers

This collection consists of roughly 80 letters sent between three brothers: William, Thomas, and David Reed Gambel. Accompanying the correspondence are dozens of poems and newspaper clippings, along with some business correspondence and certificates, two books of reflective and biographical work, and a hand-drawn magazine. Most of William’s letters are marked from the South Texas region (Victoria and Live Oak County), as are several of David's (San Antonio, Austin, and Live Oak), with Thomas’ correspondence addressed from Baltimore, Maryland.
