Description

William P. Clements, Jr., Governor of Texas, writes to Dr. Hector P. Garcia in response to his telegram criticizing the veto of the funds in the Appropriations Bill for the Children's Heart Program of South Texas. He explains that the Department of Health has spent considerable amounts in that past for funding and that Dr. Simpson has applied for federal funds from the Department of Health, Education and Welfare for Section 340 funds of the Public Health Services Act and the Governor has ordered the proposal to be expedited.
